About

About Kevin Rideout

Kevin Rideout is the CEO and Founder of Mental Health in Finance Ltd., and a former senior markets executive who spent over two decades at the sharp end of global finance. At Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), he served as Managing Director and Head of Global Client Development and Business Development, opening offices in Singapore, New York, and London and driving HKEX’s international reach. Before that, he led wholesale execution services and custody products for Asia at Citigroup, and spent a decade at DTCC building electronic post‑trade and settlement services that helped shorten settlement cycles.

In 2025, while beginning an MSc in Psychology at the University of Liverpool and living with moderate‑to‑severe depression, Kevin decided to turn his own experience into action. He founded Mental Health in Finance after seeing two uncomfortable truths. First, most mental health work in finance is practitioner talking to practitioner, not practitioner reaching people with lived experience or those at risk. He built Mental Health in Finance to take brain health out of the echo chamber and into the hands of the people who actually need it.

Second, too many institutions talk about ESG, wellbeing, and “mental health as a priority” while offering insurance and support that wouldn’t come close to how they treat a torn Achilles. This is mental health washing—and Kevin’s aim is to call it out and change it by working directly with the industry’s own stakeholders.

Mental Health in Finance works with the financial community, for the financial community, and gives back through the Kevin Milne “Giving Back” initiative. In markets like Hong Kong, everyone knows stories of colleagues who never got the help they needed and didn’t survive. Kevin changed careers because the numbers are going the wrong way—and silence is no longer an option.

About the Logo

The logo has been carefully thought through. Although you will not realize it straight away.

1.  The Big Circle represents how anxious or depressed people may see the size of the problem. The little Circle is the reality.

2. The "X" in the middle shows that 75% (3X Red Strokes) of us will suffer from Mental Health issues in our lifetime, yet barely 25% (1 X Blue Stroke) will seek help due to embarrassment.

3. The colour Green. Studies have shown the just looking at the colour green improves mood and lowers stress.
